A successful workshop

A Big Thank You to All Supporters and Users of EM Technology!

We held our first public workshop on 3 Nov 2009 at Dewan Kunak, from 9 - 11am.

Daily Express was the official paper covering the event and it was published in Harian Express on 5 Nov 09.

The speakers for the day include:
1) Clarence Chiuh, Kedai Bintang Emas / Scents of Borneo
2) M Fadly Bin Mustapa, Pengawai Tunas Kawasan Kunak & Semporna, Lembaga Minyak Sawit Malaysia (MPOB)
3) Mohd Azmi Chan, Kumpulan Usahawan Asas Tani

Clarence delivered his presentation on EM Technology, its origin, uses and application worldwide. This was followed by a short practical on how to do Activated EM Solution and Q&A session was filled audience who are interested to know applications on their cash crop (small holder) as well as in and around their house.

Fadly, representing MPOB, touched on areas of interest for small holders of oil palm plantation, mainly on the incentives and subsidies given by MPOB and was posted several questions from the audience as well.

The last speaker was Azmi, who shared his current experience on planting chili successfully. Chili is one of the main food accompaniments in most households in Malaysia, particularly so for the people of Sabah. The chili found here are considered rather spicy compared to the rest of the SEA countries or even within Malaysia itself. Hence, some of the females who have small corridor around their house were interested to find out about the planting.

To round it up, the workshop was well-received and attended by about 35 participants. They include the Head of Peladang Kunak, representatives of Pertanian and Majlis Daerah Kunak, students from UKM, as well as local farmers and female entrepreneurs.
